Budget 2026 Updates 

Lok Sabha is expected to convene shortly for Finance Minister's Budget Speech.

 

  1. Rare earth corridors in mineral rich TN, Kerala, Odisha and Andhra. FM proposes to launch scheme to support states in establishing three dedicated chemical parks.
  2. Semiconductors capabilities ISM 2.0 , 45 supply chains and skilled worked force.

  3. Electronics components mfg April 2025 scheme : so far investments have been 22990 cr , doubles target to 40000 cr .

  4. Container manufacturing scheme with Rs 10,000 crore over 5 years.

  5. FM proposes an integrated plan for labour intensive sector of textiles. Samarth 2.0 collaboration with tech insti and education insti. Mega textile parks with technical textile focus. 

  6. 200 industrial clusters : infra & tech upgradations. MSME supports , equity support , SME growth fund. select criteria funding. Self reliance india fund 2000 cr to support micro enterprises.  transaction settlement platforms for CBSE, credit guarantee support mechanism CGTMSE invoice discounting trade platforms, Govt purchases backed quicker financing, asset backed securities in form of trade receivables.

  7. Budget2026 focuses on urban infrastructure in cities with >5 lakh population (Tier 2 & 3). ₹11.2 lakh crore allocated in BE 2025-26; proposed to rise to ₹12.2 lakh crore in FY 26-27.

  8. FM: CAPEX AT HIGHEST EVER AT 12.2 LAKH CRs

  9. Water way infra : ship repairs to set up for inland waterways at varanasi and patna. Boat and ships builders and repairs can benefit.
  10. Banking sector : improved asset quality, strong balance sheets. setup : high level comitee for vikasit bharat. inclusion & consumer protection. credit disbursements, restructure , energy finance.
  11. Municipalty bond : incentive of 100 cr INR per bond issuance by larger cities.
  12. Medical tourism: healthcare complexes and research facilities & ayush , diagnostics and rehabilitation post care. 5 regions to be developed. Yoga , ayush pharmacy and certifcation of higher standards, WHO trad medicine cntre with evidence based medicine  in jamnagar.  Veternary scale up : loan linked support schemes. more universities in domain.
  13. Customs duty cuts: 36 life-saving drugs duty-free; reduced duties on lithium batteries, cobalt, EV/electronics/telecom components; exemptions for TV open-cell and EV/mobile battery manufacturing; commitment to limit levies to one per item. 
  14.  Targeted Efforts to Increase Farmers’ Income
  15. Provide focused support to small and marginal farmers to enhance productivity and income security.
  16. Empower vulnerable communities by improving access to mental health and trauma care services.
  17. Undertake initiatives for the development of 500 reservoirs to strengthen irrigation and water security.
  18. Strengthen the fisheries value chain in coastal regions to improve livelihoods and market access.
  19. Support animal husbandry through a credit-linked subsidy programme to boost rural incomes.
  20. Encourage the formation of Livestock Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to improve scale, efficiency, and bargaining power.
  21. Promote high-value crops such as coconut, sandalwood, and cashew in coastal areas.
  22. Support the cultivation and production of walnuts in hilly regions.
  23. Enhance competitiveness and productivity in coconut production through targeted interventions.
  24. Launch a dedicated national programme for the development of the Indian cashew and cocoa sectors.
  25. Booster Reform: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed providing a tax holiday till 2047 for foreign companies providing cloud services to customers globally using data centre services from India.
  26. During her Budget 2026 speech, Sitharaman said, “Recognizing the need to enable critical infrastructure and boost investment in data centers, I propose to provide a tax holiday till 2047 to any foreign company that provides cloud services to customers globally by using data center services from India.
